Ticket Prices For Downlines Are 15 Percent, Sandiaga: Fresh Wind For The Tourism Industry

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahudin Uno said the 15 percent plane ticket price was a breath of fresh air for the tourism industry.

"Good News. Thanks to the prayers and cooperation of all parties, the price of air tickets has fallen by 15 percent and has become a breath of fresh air for the tourism industry. And we must respect the efforts of the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of SOEs, as well as relevant stakeholders," said Sandiaga as quoted by Antara, Monday, August 29.

Sandiaga appreciated that the decrease in air ticket prices was carried out in a fairly short time.

According to him, airlines quickly added fleets ranging from Garuda Indonesia, Citilink, to Lion Group, so they did not miss adding their planes.

In addition, AirAsia and several airlines from abroad also support it, so that flight ticket prices are expected to be more affordable, especially when entering the peak holiday times at the end of the year.

"We will encourage there to be additional routes for the addition of new flights," said Sandiaga.

Sandiaga believes that the increase in air ticket prices that had occurred for a long time has the potential to decrease the number of tourists to Indonesia.

"And we should avoid it, and we thank you. We hope that this can be maintained as a momentum for our revival," he concluded.

It is known, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said the price of plane tickets would drop by 15 percent.

He said that the decline would occur next week for flights at a certain time.

According to the Minister of Transportation, the decline in the price of the aircraft by 15 percent at a certain time is an effort to fill the vacancy of passengers.
