JAKARTA - Subholding Gas PT Pertamina (Persero), through PT Gagas Energi Indonesia, stated that it is ready to reach non-pipeline gas areas with compressed natural gas (CNG) product, Gaslink Cylinder.
President Director of Gagas Muhammad Hardiansyah said that his party continues to carry out its commitment to provide solutions to fulfill energy that are more efficient and environmentally friendly for the community as well as MSMEs and industries, which are far from the reach of gas pipelines.
Hardiansyah revealed that the Gaslink Cylinder is an innovative use of natural gas packaged in tubes, intended for MSME and industrial customers.
"The first efficiency obtained from the use of Gaslink Cylinder is the selling price. From the experience of using the restaurants we served last year, customer testimonials, the efficiency obtained is 11 percent lower than the price of non-subsidized gas cylinders. With the current increasing world oil conditions, Of course, the efficiency obtained will be even greater," he said in an official statement quoted on Tuesday, August 23.
Furthermore, he added, the efficiency of the second use of Gaslink Cylinder is a volume savings of between 7-11 percent compared to non-subsidized gas cylinders.
"The calculation of the volume of gas used by the Gaslink Cylinder is the same as piped gas, where gas is paid for according to the volume of gas used by customers. So, from volume there is saving, from price also saving, so it is double saving," he continued.
In addition to providing clean energy services, Hardiansyah said, Gagas also provides savings support to industry and MSMEs. Currently, there are quite a number of Gaslink Cylinder users ranging from restaurants to hotels, which are located not close to the natural gas pipeline network of PT PGN Tbk.
He gave an example of the average use of Gaslink Cylinder in Tangerang, Banten, which has reached 200,000 cubic meters per month.
"As for Tangerang, we support not only MSMEs, but also for household gas needs. This is because there are several housing clusters, such as Karawaci and Bintaro, which are quite far from piped gas. The scheme will continue to use piped gas in the cluster, but the source is from Gaslink (CNG)," said Hardiansyah.
To transport natural gas, Gagas uses a gas transportation module (GTM) and the storage is placed next to PGN's meter regulating station (MRS), so there is no need for gas supply from the pipeline.
Hardiansyah also hopes that with the double saving benefits obtained from the Gaslink Cylinder, it can attract people's interest to use it.
"Thus, the use of natural gas as an efficient energy alternative can be wider to support business actors, as well as provide easier access to natural gas for the community," he concluded.
