Welcoming The 77th Independence Day Of The Republic Of Indonesia Coordinating Ministry For The Economy Launches Mini Studio EconIcon

JAKARTA - The celebration of the 77th Republic of Indonesia's Independence Day is the moment all Indonesians have been waiting for. In the midst of various global crises and challenges such as the COVID -19 pandemic, supply chain disruptions, food and energy crises, and climate change, the Indonesian nation is still able to rise strongly.

In commemoration of the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia as well as the 56th Anniversary of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, a series of activities were carried out such as leisure walks and tug of war competitions. This activity was attended by all employees. This activity was also enlivened by the Reog Ponorogo performance and musical performances from Piyu Padi and Janita Gabriela ft. Marvelous Sound in front of the AA Maramis Building, Saturday 20 August.

Before starting the leisurely walk, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto and the Minister of Finance who were also Coordinating Ministers for the Economy for the period June 2008 – October 2009 Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Coordinating Minister for the Economy for the period October 2004 – December 2005 Aburizal Bakrie, and Coordinating Minister for the Economy for the period June 2001 – August 2001 Burhanuddin Abdullah Harahap officially opened the Mini Studio of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy named "EkonIcon".

“Thanks to all of us who have worked hard so far. The Coordinating Ministry's office has never been locked down, we have worked from office for 2.5 years to maintain the economic veins," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.

In the first half of this year, the Indonesian economy continued to grow above 5% and was accompanied by relatively good stability. The trade balance recorded a surplus for 27 consecutive months, vaccination achievements were among the world's top five, nickel downstream which has succeeded in increasing exports of steel and iron, rice self-sufficiency since 2019, and inflation that has been controlled in the range of 4.9%.

"Indonesia is also trusted at the international level where we are the leader of the G20, the GCRG Champions Group, and next year will be the chairman of ASEAN," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga gave souvenirs as a form of appreciation to the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Aburizal Bakrie, and Burhanuddin Abdullah Harahap as the predecessor of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy who had laid a strong foundation in building the office of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy so that they could successfully overcome the challenges of every era.

"I hope that on the 77th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, we can be more enthusiastic and with the 56th Anniversary of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, we are still ready to work hard for a better Indonesia," concluded Coordinating Minister Airlangga.

Also attending the event were the Minister of Industry, Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Members of the Indonesian House of Representatives and all ranks of officials and employees of the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy.
