JAKARTA - In the current era, digital technology is a necessity. All parties, including MSMEs, said Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, must also be adaptive to using digital technology.

“In order to raise the MSME class, including encouraging the adoption of digital technology, the Government is pursuing various initiatives and policies, one of which is through the Proudly Made in Indonesia program. The program supports MSMEs to be able to market their products through e-commerce. Until May 2022, the percentage of MSMEs on boarding has reached 63.7 percent of the total target of digitizing MSMEs of 30 million or has reached 29.8 percent of the total number of MSMEs," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto when receiving an audience for digital logistics startup Shipper and a number of brands. SMEs, Friday 12 August.

At the same time, in commemoration of National MSME Day, Coordinating Minister Airlangga also held a dialogue and listened to various problems and input from several MSMEs present, including Avo, BLP Beauty, Strategic Advisor Family Herbal, Jilbrave, Kokumi, and Ruby Kidz.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto also suggested to MSMEs to further improve their administration so that they would be more organized in tax matters. Regarding the issue of raw materials, MSME entrepreneurs are expected to prioritize the use of materials from within the country, rather than relying on imports. In addition, local MSME branding must also be strengthened and given the opportunity to grow and be able to compete with brands from abroad.

“Regarding licensing and research, the Government can facilitate, including with halal certification, where for MSMEs it should be free. Including for the convenience of giving SNI certificates, so that the quality of original local products is able to fight fake products from abroad. The important thing is that all cool local brands must be registered with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights so that no one duplicates them," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga.

Regarding the digital logistics startup Shipper, this company is engaged in the digital field and has a mission to support Indonesia's economic growth through integrated logistics and supply chain solutions, as well as the performance and achievements of local MSME brand entrepreneurs who play a role and contribute to the acceleration of national economic recovery.

At the end of the event which was also attended by the Director General of Small, Medium and Multifarious Industries (IKMA) of the Ministry of Industry, Reni Yanita, Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto received a t-shirt that read "Usaha Maju Kantong Moncer" which can be shortened to MSME. Shipper also invited Coordinating Minister Airlangga to be the keynote speaker at the “Legendary Brands Festival: Heroes of the National Economy” which will be attended by thousands of local MSME brands on November 10, 2022.
