Successfully Empowering Coastal Communities Through The Crab Apartment Program, Indra Karya Wins A CSR Award

JAKARTA - PT Indra Karya (Persero) again won two awards in the category of Best 4-Star Economic Pillar and 4-Star Best Social Pillar in the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) and CSR Awards 2022 organized by BUMN Track through the Coastal Community Creative Economy Program. (PRO-ACTION).

“This award is certainly a motivation for us to create a more innovative TJSL program. We will consistently carry out sustainable CSR programs so that we can create Creating Shared Value (CSV) as a form of work so that it can have a positive impact on companies and society as a form of BUMN for Indonesia," said President Director of PT Indra Karya (Persero) Gok Ari Joso Simamora through his remarks when receiving the award at the Grand Ballroom of the JW Marriott Hotel, Mega Kuningan, Jakarta, Thursday 11 August.

On that occasion, Gok Ari attended the event with the theme "Acceleration of SOEs Encouraging Economic Recovery through TJSL and CSR" accompanied by VP Corporate Secretary Okky Suryono, TJSL Manager Bambang Palgunadi and Corcom Manager Nita Syafitri.

Gok Ari added, Indra Karya's TJSL program is directed to encourage the economy of coastal communities through crab apartment programs and MSME training as well as labor-intensive collaboration programs.

In line with the statement above, VP Corporate Secretary of PT Indra Karya (Persero) Okky Suryono stated that this event is certainly a good place to evaluate and bring up new innovations, especially in the field of CSR or CSR that is aligned to support the company's Core Business.

PRO-AKSI is a collaboration program of 21 SOEs in Madura which consists of the Crab Apartment Development Program and the MSME Development and Training Program. This activity involved 62 Farmers and SMEs of Batik Madura with 5 Packages of Life Skill Vocational Programs and 2,000 boxes arranged like apartments.

By carrying out coaching for MSME and BUMDes actors, they can analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the businesses they run, create jobs and support poverty reduction efforts and provide an entrepreneurial mindset for BUMDes so that they can become independent profit organizations and have great value.

In addition, this activity aims to monitor the development of the quality and capability of BUMDes members and equip human resource management with the aim of creating jobs and supporting poverty reduction efforts. With several stages, PRO-AKSI is able to increase MSME income by at least 200 percent after implementation.

The packaging of crab cultivation with this apartment maximizes the storage of cultivation land space. Initially this activity was carried out with ponds that took up a lot of land, so that it could be reduced to a single building with an area of 80 cubic meters with a total weight of 6 tons per three months.
