JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan said, as many as 111 companies have obtained approval to use the Oilita brand from the Ministry of Trade.
Oilita is a government-owned trademark for simple packaged bulk cooking oil. This brand can be used by SOEs or private companies.
The launch of the people's bulk cooking oil (MGCR) program using the Oilita brand was carried out on July 6, 2022.
"As of August 10, 2022, there are 111 companies and this will continue to grow considering the company's interest in implementing this program is good," he said in a written statement, Thursday, August 11.
Zulhas, as Zulkifli Hasan is familiarly called, said that MGCR is already available at 18,944 retailer partners of Logistics and Retail Business Partners (PUJLE) spread across 275 regencies/cities in 27 provinces with special signs/HET banners.
"The government has expanded the scope of distribution from previously bulk cooking oil to bulk cooking oil and people's packaged cooking oil. People's Packaged Cooking Oil must use the Oilita brand and include a HET of Rp. 14,000 per liter," he said.
The Ministry of Trade, continued Zulhas, is optimistic that Oilita will increase the reach of the MGCR Program and strengthen PUJLE's retail partners throughout Indonesia.
"Within one month, it is hoped that the program will reach especially the eastern part of Indonesia so that the HET of bulk cooking oil throughout Indonesia can be achieved immediately," he said.
Based on the daily monitoring of the Ministry of Trade's Basic Needs Market Monitoring System (SP2KP) in 216 markets throughout Indonesia, the average bulk cooking oil price for Java and Bali is below the highest retail price (HET) of IDR 14,000 per liter.
"As of August 10, 2022, the price of bulk cooking oil in Java and Bali was recorded at Rp. 12,929 per liter, or down more than 4.68 percent compared to last month," he said.
Meanwhile, said Zulhas, the average national price compared to last month had reached the level of Rp. 14,000 per liter, or decreased by 9.26 percent.
"All other provinces show a downward trend, with details of the average price for Sumatra at Rp. 13,151 per liter, Kalimantan at Rp. 13,804 per liter, Sulawesi at Rp. 13,586 per liter, and Maluku and Papua at Rp. 18,271 per liter," he said.
