JAKARTA - Within one year of the transfer of management of the Rokan Block, PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) managed to carry out 370 drillings or more than three times as much as before. This number consists of 105 well drilling with the execution of 15,000 Work Over (WO) activities and Well Intervention Well Services (WIWS) which absorbs 60 percent of the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) to drive the national economy.

The massive and aggressive drilling resulted in an increase in oil and gas production from an average of 158.7 MBOPD before the transfer of management to the current 161 MBOPD. Reserve volume also increased from 320.1 MMBOE at the beginning of the transition to 370.2 MMBOE after one year of management transfer.

PHR President Director Jaffee A Suardin said the company's superior performance and success in increasing the production of the Rokan Working Area (WK) was also supported by the application of digital technology and various innovations. "PHR has an operational control center and big data facilities that can monitor activities in the field in real time. The presence of a facility called the Digital & Innovation Center (DICE) plays an important role in supporting quick and appropriate decision making," he said in Jakarta, Tuesday 9 August.

DICE is the result of the integration of two PHR digital facilities, namely the War Room and the Integrated Optimization Decision Support Center (IODSC). The facility is equipped with 66 screens that display data and information in the form of a digital dashboard, including monitoring of drilling activities; integrated drilling schedule (Integrated Drilling Schedule); preparation of drilling locations and construction of oil well facilities; and management of production activities and equipment maintenance.

Through this DICE facility, Jafee added, if there are obstacles in the field, the relevant teams can immediately discuss to find the best solution. This is a manifestation of Pertamina's Go Collaborative spirit to achieve productive and efficient upstream oil and gas operations.

"This Digital & Innovation Center facility really supports massive and aggressive work plans at WK Rokan, including the program to drill 400 to 500 wells this year," said Jaffee.

On the other hand, PHR also utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology which can be utilized, among others, for setting up automatic well re-maintenance (WO) schedules; more optimal and efficient rig movement planning; identification of sub-optimal pump performance; analysis and measurement of oil flow for optimal production; as well as remote and integrated monitoring of fluid pressure conditions in oil wells.

Since the first day of the transfer of management, PHR immediately stepped on the gas with a massive and aggressive work plan through the target of drilling 400 to 500 new wells this year. The number of drilling rigs increased from 9 rigs to 21 rigs at this time. The number will continue to be increased to 27 rigs by the end of this year. Likewise with the number of rework and well repair rigs (WO/WS), from 25 rigs to 32 WO/WS rigs.
