JAKARTA - The series of Electric Multiple Units (EMU) or trains for the Jakarta-Bandung Fast Train (KCJB) began to be sent from China to Indonesia today.
The progress of the project is already 85 percent. Meanwhile, the physical construction is only 76 percent.
President Director of the Indonesia-China Fast Train (KCIC) Dwiyana Slamet Riyadi said the first delivery of the EMU and Comprehensive Inspection Train (CIT) was the first time the delivery of fast train EMU from China to overseas.
"This will be a special gift from all of us KCJB's big family for the country of Indonesia which will celebrate the 77th independence day which falls on August 17, 2022," he said at the virtual manufacturing completion and delivery of KCJB's inaugural EMU, Friday, August 5.
Dwiyana hopes that the delivery of the fast train EMU series will be escorted, especially from the Tanjung Priok port to Tegalluar Station, Bandung Regency. This is because the terrain is quite difficult.
"Because it is indeed facing a fairly difficult terrain through land or toll roads, so it must be escorted to avoid unwanted obstacles," he said.
Dwiyana said, as many as 11 train series produced by CRRC Sifang, Qingdao, Shandong Province, China, have been completed in early April this year.
EMU and CIT which were sent to Indonesia today have completed static and dynamic tests at their production sites.
"Until now, the progress of the KCIC project has reached 85 percent, and there are still some tunnel 2 works, pre loading, track laying and station completion," he said.
Furthermore, Dwiyana said, the delivery of this high-speed train EMU series proves that the KCJB project can be completed faster.
"The completion of the manufacturing of the EMU and CIT series in China proves that the KCJB project will be more stable in completing all of its activities, especially facing the G20 meeting event and also related to the Target commercial oppression date (COD) in June 2023," he said.
