JAKARTA - PLN has succeeded in providing voltage (Energize) on the 150 kilo Volt (kV) Batulicin - Tarjun High Voltage Air Line (OPGW) and Circuit 2 (GSW) transmission lines. The operation of the SUTT strengthens the reliability of the electricity system in Kotabaru Regency.

General Manager of PLN East Kalimantan Development Main Unit (UIP KLT), Josua Simanungkalit explained that the success of providing the first voltage to the transmission network is one of the keys to the successful growth of the industrial sector in Kotabaru Regency.

This infrastructure development is carried out to supply electricity to High Voltage Consumers (KTT), one of which is PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk. who became the first High Voltage Consumer in Kalimantan.

"The success of this energize project is also one of the supports for the provision of a reliable electricity system in the context of the development of the State Capital in East Kalimantan. Moreover, currently the electricity system in East Kalimantan is already interconnected with systems in South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan," said Josua in a statement. The 150kV Batulicin – Tarjun SUTT construction project is located in Kotabaru Regency, South Kalimantan, which spans an 85.34 kilometer circuit (kms) which in total up to the ITP GI is supported by 123 towers. Built since January 12, 2021, this development project has a portion of the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of up to 75.87 percent.

Josua said that this project was able to absorb a workforce of up to 711 people and involved a good synergy role and support between PLN units, business partners, stakeholders, and the surrounding community.
