Trade Minister Zulhas: The Price Of Bulk Cooking Oil In Java, Bali, Sumatra And Kalimantan Has Dropped To IDR 14,000 Per Liter

JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan said the price of bulk cooking oil on the islands of Java, Bali, Sumatra and Kalimantan had decreased to Rp. 14 thousand per liter.

However, Zulkifli admitted, on the islands of Papua and Maluku, there is still a price of bulk cooking oil exceeding Rp. 14 thousand per liter.

"The President's order when I was minister for two months of bulk oil, simple packaging oil of Rp. 14,000. Thank God, in two weeks it was Rp. 14,000 in Java, Bali, Sumatra and Kalimantan," said Zulkifli at the Presidential Palace Complex, quoted from Antara, Thursday, August 4 .

For Papua and Maluku, Zulkifli said there would be deliveries of up to 1,000 tons. Currently in Maluku and Papua, the price of bulk cooking oil can reach Rp. 17,000 per liter.

"Now it's Rp. 17,000 in Maluku, Papua. In two weeks, if we come in, we will flood the goods, because in Papua we cannot bulk. Now the packaging is just simple packaging. If it is in bulk, it is difficult to carry it," he said.

In addition to the question of the price of cooking oil, Zulkifli also reported the latest condition of the price of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) to President Jokowi. Because two weeks ago the President asked that the price of FFB could be increased above Rp. 2,000 per kilogram (kg).

"Today, some are already above Rp. 2,000 (per kg), some are still Rp. 1,700. I have promised that in two weeks the FFB can be above Rp. 2,000," he said.

Therefore, the Ministry of Trade will continue to implement a number of strategies, namely delaying the increase in export levies by 200 US dollars. Thus, the price of FFB could increase by Rp600 per kg.

Second, the government reduced the tax by US$230 so that the price of FFB again rose by Rp630 per kg.

"This means that the price of FFB is at least Rp. 1,230 plus Rp. 1,250, which equals Rp. 2,480," he said.

"Now in Riau it is Rp. 2,100, in Jambi it is still Rp. 1,700. One week, in the next two weeks it is already above Rp. 2,000, which is the average," Zulkifli added.
