JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province (Babel) stated that the export activities of Babylonian tin and non-tin commodities in June 2022 through ports outside the region were worth US$231.76 million, an increase of 72.77 percent compared to the previous month.

"Exports loaded through these foreign ports are larger than those in Bangka Belitung," said Head of BPS Babel Toto Haryanto Silitonga as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 3.

He noted that exports to the Babylon Islands through ports outside Babylon in June 2022 reached US$231.76 million, consisting of US$226.55 million in tin and US$5.21 million in non-tin.

"Exports of Babylonian commodities loaded through ports outside the region increased by 72.77 percent, consisting of an increase in tin exports by 76.53 percent and a decrease in non-tin exports by 10.35 percent," he said.

He said export activities through the loading port in Bangka Belitung amounted to US$55.16 million, consisting of US$36.31 million in tin exports and US$18.85 million in non-tin exports.

"Exports loaded through the port of Babel in June increased by 42.97 percent, triggered by an increase in non-tin exports of 380.17 percent," he said.

According to him, the difference in exports of the two ports is visible when compared to the same month in the previous year (June 2021).

Bangka Belitung exports loaded through the port of Babel decreased by 69.33 percent, while exports loaded through ports outside Bangka Belitung increased by 4,125.04 percent.

"Tin commodities loaded through the Bangka Belitung port decreased by 78.32 percent and non-tin increased by 52.66 percent," he said.

Meanwhile, at ports outside the Bangka Belitung Islands, both commodities increased by 26,949.36 percent and 12.13 percent, respectively.

"Based on the loading port, there is a difference between the export value from Bangka Belitung which is loaded inside and outside the port of Babel which is quite high," he said.
