PALU - PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi asked the public to report gas stations found serving the purchase of subsidized fuel oil (BBM) using jerry cans without a recommendation letter.

"If the public finds a gas station that serves priority jerry cans or modified tanks, please report to us when it happened, which gas station and the field team will take action through further investigation," explained Communication and Relations of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sulawesi Muhammad Iqbal Hidayatulloh, reported by ANTARA, Saturday. , July 30

Iqbal said Pertamina had issued a standard operating procedure (SOP) that gas stations were not allowed to purchase subsidized fuel using jerry cans without a recommendation letter.

"This is firm that this year we issue SOPs and direct letters from Pertamina to gas stations not to serve the purchase of jerry cans," he said.

According to Iqbal, Presidential Regulation Number 117 of 2022 starting from 2022 states that pertalite is no longer a type of general fuel but has been included in the special type of assignment fuel (JBKP).

In relation to this regulation, Pertalite already has a quota that must be distributed and is not freely sold to the public.

"The quotas prepared by the government in numbers have decreased compared to 2021, while economic activity in 2022 has increased after the pandemic," said Iqbal.

Based on existing data, the quota for diesel in 2022 for Central Sulawesi is 113,000 KL, while pertalite reaches 322,000 KL.

"The current reality is that the position is over quota, not compared to the annual quota for 2022, but the cumulative quota for the current month or what is commonly called the year to date June 2022," he explained.

According to Iqbal, Pertamina's role is to arrange for this quota from the beginning of the year to the end of the year, lest the quota suddenly runs out, we automatically cannot distribute it.

"Don't let the quota suddenly run out in August, we will automatically no longer be able to distribute it," said Iqbal.
