JAKARTA - PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) is involved in the construction project for the Capital of the Archipelago (IKN), in East Kalimantan. The company will build a warehousing project with the concept of digitization. The goal is to maximize the delivery of goods and reduce logistics costs.

Director of the Courier and Logistics Business of Pos Indonesia, Siti Choiriana said that her party is currently preparing a number of strategic steps, including financing, to make the project a success.

"We are preparing or preparing (the warehouse project) in Kalimantan IKN, with us making sure the concept is going forward with the latest technology, technology is indeed standardized by the government, so all those that enter there are renewable standards," said Choiriana during a press conference at the Mall. Sarinah, Menteng District, Central Jakarta on Friday, July 29.

Choiriana said Pos Indonesia would issue a fairly large budget. This is because the resources used in the project are quite diverse. One of them prioritizes renewable digitalization as a form of company transformation.

Unfortunately, Choiriana is reluctant to specify how much the company will spend on its budget. He said, his party has not been able to divulge the nominal or the amount of budget needed by the company at this time.

Even so, Choiriana ensures that financial efficiency is the company's main approach in deciding the budget to be issued.

"If this is a position like this, if we prepare for the development, there will definitely be a lot of output, yes, if we can't issue a number, we can't issue it," he explained.

In addition, Choiriana emphasized that Pos Indonesia continues to improve by mapping and applying every business opportunity. The goal is to maintain the postal service which has now lasted for nearly three centuries.

"This company must rise because it will be 276 years old this year. We continue to think about Pos Indonesia's business fundamentals, one of which is digitalization," he said.

According to Choiriana, digital transformation is the trigger for updates ranging from courier services, products and channels, technology, to culture at Pos Indonesia. This program is one way for the company to compete with other logistics companies.

Furthermore, Choiriana said there are three ways to encourage company growth, namely build, buy, and borrow. Pos Indonesia chose the borrow strategy through collaborative action with various parties to develop business and run a transformation program.

"The build strategy is if we have the capability and buy if we have money, but we don't have these two things, so we choose borrow. For borrow, we just choose a partner who wants to work with the post. We are open and take the fastest one," he explained.
