Sri Mulyani's Nostalgia For STAN's Progress: 2005 I'm Here It's Filled With Goats, Now It's Cool

JAKARTA - The Minister of Finance (Menkeu) said that the current state of the State College of Accountancy (STAN) has developed far with various facilities and adequate facilities.

According to him, this change is very pronounced when compared to the situation almost two decades ago. This nostalgia was conveyed by the Minister of Finance when speaking at the peak of the commemoration of the 2022 STAN Dies Natalis.

“When I became Minister of Finance in 2005, I was invited to STAN. At that time it contained goats. Your campus is not as cool as it is now, reeds are everywhere. Goats come in from nowhere. What's the fence like? Then, I don't think this is a good place to gain knowledge," he said through a virtual channel on Friday, July 29.

Not only that, the state treasurer also shared the story of his discussion with one of the STAN alumni who is now a public figure and is known to the wider community.

“I still remember well Mr. Helmy Yahya told me that he was a lecturer assistant here and said the atmosphere was very depressing. I think he can share his youth experiences through his podcast," he said.

Based on the conditions that occurred, the Minister of Finance at that time immediately took the initiative to renew the STAN and encourage the transformation of the dictionary.

"So since then I have asked for this all to be changed. Now everything is good, then you should have 1,000 times better graduates and I can charge this," he said.

“Earlier I received a report that now there are auditoriums, laboratories, libraries that have complete journals with internet that can access extensive information. All of them aim to improve you in terms of professionalism, knowledge, and also the various skills needed to be able to manage state finances better,” said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani.

For information, STAN State Finance Polytechnic is an official higher education under the Financial Education and Training Agency, Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. This campus provides education for diploma study programs in the field of state finance, located in Bintaro, South Tangerang.
