Reveals Its Role In Keeping Food Inflation, ID FOOD: In DKI Jakarta The Weight Is 27 Percent, Banten 8 Percent

JAKARTA - ID FOOD Food Holding BUMN seeks to be a part of supporting the government to maintain food inflation. The way to do this is to meet the availability of food supplies, and the smooth distribution of food logistics.

President Director of Food Holding ID FOOD, Frans Marganda Tambunan, said that the food sector is the largest contributor to inflation, especially the contribution of inflation to volatile foods.

Therefore, continued Frans, Food SOEs take a role in contributing to securing national inflation. In particular, DKI Jakarta achieved a weight of 27 percent, and Banten 8 percent.

"ID FOOD Food SOEs strive to contribute to maintaining food inflation, especially in Jakarta and Banten with high demand for consumption levels through the availability of food supplies and the smooth distribution of food logistics," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, July 13.

Furthermore, Frans said that ensuring the availability of food supply to meet the needs of the community is to distribute food evenly. According to Frans, food distribution can be done through strategic partnerships, expanding the network of traders to traditional markets.

"One of the steps to expand the network of traditional markets is to cooperate with associations or organizations of market traders and MSMEs such as APPSINDO," he said.

Frans said through the APPSINDO market trader network, ID FOOD will supply basic food needs to market traders to ensure food stocks are available in the market. Some of the basic food needs include rice, sugar, cooking oil, salt, meat, fish and other food commodities managed by ID FOOD.

"Food SOEs collaborate with market traders to encourage economic growth so that food supplies for the community are met," he said.

Meanwhile, APPSINDO Chairman Hasan Basri said the COVID-19 condition had an impact on market traders and MSMEs. Therefore, it is hoped that the government's support and cooperation in meeting food availability and price affordability is expected.

"Traders hope that collaboration with the Government regarding food availability, such as meat and sugar, can be synergized with MSMEs, for example we need sugar suppliers for 700 cake traders and household craftsmen, Food SOEs can supply these food commodities," said Hasan.
