KLATEN - Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara appreciated MSMEs who were able to explore creativity to produce products that fit the tastes of the global market.

This was conveyed when he visited the MSME workshop assisted by the Indonesian Export Financing Agency (LPEI) of Wastraloka in Klaten, Central Java, Friday.

"I visited Wastraloka which emerged as an MSME capable of marketing products to foreign countries by exporting," he said.

Suahasil assessed that the processing of unused goods into various premium crafts painted with batik motifs had an advantage as MSMEs capable of producing products that can be enjoyed and purchased by the world.

Therefore, the state is ready to facilitate in various ways such as export management, funding and guarantees.

Wastraloka said, one example is where the creativity of MSMEs can be pushed to the world stage.

"The Ministry of Finance will always be behind LPEI and support LPEI in finding new MSMEs, new businesses and new markets, then we work together and of course LPEI must also work hard to establish partnerships with our business world," said Suahasil.

Representing other MSME actors, he hopes that the government can provide wider access to the export market.

"So far, the pandemic, exhibitions have been off and hopefully there will be programs from the government to speed up programs that have been off so far so that they can introduce them to the outside world and know that we have unique and good products," said Eni.

LPEI or Indonesia Eximbank as the Special Mission Vehicle (SMV) of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance in increasing national exports has a mandate to strive to create new exporters.

The LPEI meeting with Wastraloka took place in 2018 in the continued training and assistance program for the New Exporters Program (CPNE) which eventually allowed Wastraloka to export to a number of countries such as the United States, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and the United Arab Emirates.

The production capacity has increased to the ability of more than 1,000 units and is able to print the turnover of hundreds of millions of rupiah every month.

"By participating in the Wastraloka CPNE program, we can also get great benefits, especially to help choose types of products that produce according to demand, market access, calculate selling prices and learn the process from product shipments to destination countries," said LPEI Executive Director Riyani Tirtoso.

In addition to the CPNE program, LPEI has also involved Wastraloka in a number of Exhibitions and Business Matching for the expansion of market access.

Wastraloka has also participated in one of the largest trade exhibitions in Indonesia, namely Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) in 2018 and collaborated with Sarinah in order to expand market access.
