JAKARTA - Perum Perhutani East Java Regional Division has revitalized the Eucalyptus Breadfruit Oil Factory in Ponorogo by equipping a number of modern facilities and equipment with the aim of increasing its production capacity.

President Director of Perum Perhutani, Wahyu Kuncoro in a press release, quoted by Antara, Thursday, July 7, said that with the revitalization of the factory, the factory would be able to operate every day for 24 hours, with a production capacity of 48 tons per day and cineol content of 57.27 percent.

He explained that the Eucalyptus Breadfruit Oil Factory is located in Sidoharjo Village, Pulung District, Ponorogo Regency, and has a building area of 1,719 square meters.

The factory, which stands on an area of 2,497,880 square meters, is a forest area of the Madiun Forest Management Unit (KPH) on the 3G plot of the Sukun Forest Pemangkuan Resort (RPH), the Sukun Forest Management Unit (BKPH).

"PMKP Breadfruit Ponorogo is under the management of the Independent Business Unit for the Non-Timber Forest Products Industry (KBM IHHBK) Perum Perhutani," said Wahyu.

Wahyu explained, this factory will begin to be revitalized in April 2021, and will be completed in 2022 and will be able to operate again on April 26, 2022.

After being revitalized, the factory will be supported by raw materials for eucalyptus leaves from Perhutani KPH Madiun as much as 10,5554 tons, KPH Lawu Ds 199 tons and other KPHs in the vicinity.

"The existence of the factory does need to be revitalized, because the old factory's production capacity is still not optimal, and the factory building is also quite old," he said.

For that reason, a new factory building is needed that is equipped with modern facilities and equipment in order to increase its production capacity.

Although revitalized, he said, the eucalyptus oil produced still meets the Indonesian National Standard (SNI 06-3954-2006) and is also included in the EOA standard which requires cineol levels to have a value ranging from 50-65 percent.

Wahyu hopes that the revitalization of this factory can be used as a pilot to build factories in other locations, because it is supported by raw materials for eucalyptus leaves which are close to the factory, so that transportation efficiency can be reduced and reduce raw material losses.
