JAKARTA - Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Irto Ginting emphasized that his party would not apply the requirements for purchasing 3 kilograms (Kg) of LPG to the public through the MyPertamina application.

"We are still developing the system, so we will not register yet," Irto told reporters, Thursday, June 30.

Irto asked the public not to worry about the issue of purchasing subsidized LPG using MyPertamina.

The reason is, he said, so far the regulation of fuel spending through the MyPertamina application is only devoted to subsidized fuels of the Pertalite and Solar types sold at gas stations.

Starting July 1, 2022 Pertamina will open registration for consumers who want to buy subsidized fuel with the MyPertamina platform in 11 districts and cities namely, Padang Panjang City, Agam Regency, and Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra; Bandung City, Sukabumi City, Tasikmalaya City, and Ciamis Regency, West Java; the city of Banjarmasin in South Kalimantan; Yogyakarta City; and Manado City in North Sulawesi.

The condition for purchasing subsidized fuel through MyPertamina aims to make the distribution of subsidized fuel more targeted and it is hoped that it will reduce the quota so that it does not exceed the limit set by the government.

In 2022, the prognosis for the realization of Pertalite is around 28 million kiloliters (KL), while this year the quota is 23.05 million KL, and until May 2022 the realization of Pertalite distribution has exceeded the quota by 23 percent.

The prognosis for subsidized diesel is 17.2 million kiloliters in 2022, while this year the quota given is 14.91 million kiloliters.

As of May 2002, the realization of subsidies had exceeded the quota by 11 percent.

Pertamina stated that currently subsidized fuel types of Pertalite and Solar are still widely consumed by the upper middle class with a composition of almost 60 percent, the rich enjoy almost 80 percent of the total consumption of subsidized fuel.

Meanwhile, the poor and vulnerable or the bottom 40 percent only enjoy about 20 percent of the subsidized fuel.
