JAKARTA - The government is increasingly tightening the rules for purchasing Pertalite Fuel (BBM) and subsidized Solar so that it is right on target, one of which is by revising Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 191 of 2014 concerning Provision, Distribution and Retail Selling Price of Fuel Oil (BBM).
A member of the BPH Migas Committee, Saleh Abdurrahman, gave a leak regarding the draft new rules that will later regulate the criteria for vehicles that are allowed to consume Pertalite and Solar.
For certain types of diesel fuel (JBT), BPH Migas will prohibit the purchase of diesel for all black plate private vehicles except for individual black plates.
"Why? Because we received input that many of our brothers and sisters are still doing business with four-wheeled pickups such as small sand carriers in the villages, which if restricted would be very difficult," said Saleh in a webinar in Jakarta, Thursday 30 June.
Meanwhile, public transportation such as vehicles carrying people with yellow plates will still be allowed to drink subsidized diesel.
BPH Migas will also prohibit the purchase of subsidized diesel for goods transporting vehicles except for yellow plate goods transporting public vehicles carrying basic necessities.
"How do you know they brought basic food? For this we ask for a letter of recommendation from the relevant agency. So this is part of a closed subsidy that goes to consumers," said Saleh.
For the Special Assignment Fuel Type (JBKP), BPH Migas stipulates a rule in the form of a ban on vehicles with Cubicle Centimeter (CC) specifications above 2,000 using Pertalite.
"JBKP black plate cars can still use pertalite except those above 2,000 CC including luxury motorbikes above 2,000 cc," Saleh added.
While the yellow plate vehicle for transporting people, Saleh said he could still use Pertalite.
"I emphasize that these criteria are still draft and can change," he concluded.
