JAKARTA – PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk supports the government's program in migrating tax data collection using a resident identity number (KTP) as a TIN.
Bank Mandiri President Director Darmawan Junaidi said that in order to realize this support, his party added a 16-digit NPWP feature on all the company's payment channels.
"This initiative is our response to the need for interoperability of taxation nationally following the plan to apply the Population Identification Number (NIK) as an NPWP in October 2023," he said in a written statement on Tuesday, June 28.
According to Darmawan, currently taxpayers can still pay their obligations on all Bank Mandiri payment channels, both offline (at branch offices) and online by inputting a 15-digit TIN.
"In the future, we hope that this well-established synergy can be continued in line with the digital transformation that is being carried out by Bank Mandiri and also the innovation of the Directorate General of Taxes in utilizing information technology developments, in order to accelerate data transmission and increase state revenue from taxes," he said.
Furthermore, Darmawan said that this synergy is also expected to make it easier for customers to make tax payments across all Bank Mandiri channels. It was recorded that last year, tax payments made by taxpayers through various Bank Mandiri networks reached Rp. 211.8 trillion.
Meanwhile, the agreement for the inauguration of the cooperation was signed by the Director General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance Suryo Utomo and the President Director of Bank Mandiri Darmawan Junaidi at the Head Office of the Directorate General of Taxes in Jakarta today.
