2022 Is Only Half Way Through, The Number Of Investors In The Indonesian Capital Market Will Increase By 1.57 Million SID

JAKARTA - The number of investors in the Indonesian capital market continues to increase. From this year to June, the growth is even more rapid.

As stated by the President Director of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Inarno Djajadi in his statement, quoted on Tuesday, June 28. Inarno appreciates all parties, so that new milestones can be created, such as the number of investors in the Indonesian capital market, which to date has exceeded 9 million investors.

"The number of capital market investors has increased by more than 1.57 million single investor identification (SID) or 21 percent from the previous year," said Inarno.

More interestingly, of the total number of investors in the Indonesian capital market, 81.74 percent of them are dominated by young investors.

On the other hand, the number of stock investors also increased to 3.99 million SID as of June 24, 2022, an increase of more than 536 thousand SID or 15.6 percent from the previous year.

Inarno said several milestones in the Indonesian capital market were achieved thanks to the support, collaboration and good synergy between OJK, Self-Regulatory Organization (SRO) and all Indonesian capital market stakeholders.

As of the middle of 2022, 3,893 capital market education activities have been carried out throughout Indonesia, which were attended by 312,906 participants. Most of these activities are held with the support of IDX Investment Galleries throughout Indonesia which currently number 702.
