JAKARTA - The socialization and transition period regarding the use of the PeduliLindungi application to purchase People's Bulk Cooking Oil (MGCR) began today. The outreach will be carried out over the next two weeks.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut B. Pandjaitan said system changes were made to make MGCR distribution management more accountable and monitored from producers to consumers.

"We have started this socialization and transition period from today onwards for the next 2 weeks. Later, after the two-week socialization and transition period is complete, then all sales and purchases of MGCR will use the PeduliLindungi application," he said in an official statement, Monday 27 June.

For the time being during this socialization and transition period, said Luhut, people can still make purchases by showing their Population Identification Number (NIK). Purchases can be made at the nearest retail store that has been officially registered in the Bulk Cooking Oil Information System (SIMIRAH 2.0) or Official and Retail Service Business Actors (PUJLE), namely Food and Savory Stalls.

"Later on, we will see how this system works through evaluation and monitoring that we carry out regularly. We will also listen to a lot of input from retailers and buyers during this socialization period to make access easier for both of them," he said.

This evaluation and monitoring are carried out in a Task Force Team formed by the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (Kemenko Ekon), the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag), the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin), and the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo).

The team is tasked with providing various channels of information regarding questions or complaints that arise from the public regarding the purchase of MGCR. This team will also go directly to the field to see the technical process of buying and selling MGCR in the community from producers to consumers.

Luhut explained that until now the purchase of MGCR has been regulated with the Highest Retail Price (HET), which is IDR 14,000.00 per liter or IDR 15,500 per kilogram (Kg). "For all sellers or retailers who have registered with SIMIRAH 2.0 or PUJLE, we can set HET. So, no one can play around with this price," he said.

Luhut admitted that during the two-week socialization and transition period, the community began to try this new system. It is hoped that the community will be able to adapt quickly to this new system.

"This is a joint effort from the relevant ministries/agencies to solve problems related to cooking oil. In the early stages of course it will require adjustments, but I'm sure the community will be able to quickly adapt to this new system, because the goal is for the common good," he said.

Several steps to purchase MGCR can be seen on the official website, namely https://linktr.ee/minyakita. Buyers can come to retail stores that have been registered with SIMIRAH 2.0 and PUJLE, then scan the QR Code at the retailer using the PeduliLindungi application. If the scan results are green, then the buyer can buy MGCR.

Then, if the scan results are red, then the buyer has reached the maximum daily limit to buy MGCR of 10 Kilogram/NIK/day. If the buyer does not have the PeduliLindungi application, the buyer can show his NIK to the retailer and the retailer will record it.

To date, the list of retailers registered by the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Industry has reached 40,000. The entire list of these retailers can be viewed via the link Minyak-goreng.id or via https://linktr.ee/minyakita.
