Waskita Karya Estimates Toll Road Construction To Increase MSME Revenues By 17 Percent

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Waskita Karya Tbk Destiawan Soewardjono estimates that the toll road construction can increase the income of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) between 3 to 17 percent.

"The average estimated increase in MSME revenue with the Waskita toll road in both Java and Sumatra is between 3 and 17 percent," said Destiawan, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 27.

He detailed that the construction of the Ciawi-Sukabumi toll road will increase MSME revenue by 4.8 percent, Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu toll road 17.9 percent, Cimanggis-Cibitung 7.8 percent, Pejagan-Pemalang 6.1 percent, and Pasuruan-Cibitung. Probolinggo 5.4 percent.

In addition, the construction of the Krian-Legundi-Bunder-Manyar toll road increased MSME revenue by 14.9 percent, the Kayu Agung-Palembang-Betung toll road by 2.5 percent, Kanci-Pejagan toll road 15.7 percent, Pemalang-Batang toll road 5.5 percent. percent, and Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat 6.6 percent.

As for March 2022, Waskita Karya has a domestic component level of up to 83 percent, with details on the use of TKDN in the construction of the Cimanggis-Cibitung toll road to reach 78 percent, Kayu Agung toll road 75 percent, and Bacakayu toll road 96 percent.

"It can be seen that the construction and operation of the toll road under PT Waskita Karya has met the minimum TKDN requirement set by the government, which is 60 percent," said Destiawan.

Meanwhile, based on the analysis of the components included in the expenditure calculation, some materials for the construction and operation of toll roads cannot be fulfilled because they have not been made in Indonesia.

"This means that the material is still imported, such as electronic equipment and others," he said.
