JAKARTA - PT PLN held a meeting with Sharon, a customer who was fined Rp. 68 million for being accused of using a fake meter seal.

The meeting was attended by Sharon, PLN, and a team from the Director General of Electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Based on the results of the meeting, Sharon was acquitted of the fine.

Responding to this, Sharon said he was relieved that the electricity flowing in his house was still within the limits of the installed electric current.

"It's a relief because it turns out that the electricity in the house is still in accordance with PLN's limits," said Sharon.

For information, the KWh meter is a measuring tool for the electricity limit belonging to PLN which is entrusted to the customer and the customer's job is to keep the kWh meter in a safe place.

PLN will routinely check the kWh meter installed in the customer's house to ensure the accuracy of the measurements and the kWh meter is still functioning properly.

Sharon also expressed his appreciation to PLN for working professionally, openly and prioritizing public safety.

"Honestly, this is a valuable experience for me and my family because of our ignorance as customers, but PLN is now very open, we as customers are more active, just ask and find out. Suggestions for PLN are more intensive for socialization," said Sharon.

Kemas reiterated that the limit of PLN's authority is only up to the kWh meter and installation into the house is the responsibility of the customer.

Furthermore, the customer is not entitled to influence the power measurement in the kWh meter even if it is in the customer's home.

"The inspection of the kWh meter by PLN is used to ensure that the kWh meter is accurate, has not been tampered with, and is in good condition," he concluded.
