Minister Teten: Kemenkop UKM Must Build A New Spirit Realizing Six Priority Programs

JAKARTA - Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki invites all parties to build a new spirit to realize the six priority programs and look for new alternative ideas related to access to finance and markets for cooperatives and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

"We have to stop working just as a formality. This mindset needs to be changed. Start having the spirit to build a people-based economy, where this is the basis of our work," Teten said as quoted by Antara, Monday, June 20.

Teten admitted that he had collaborated with various parties to realize the priority programs of cooperatives and SMEs as an effort to encourage the revival of the national economy.

Currently, 70 percent of the national economic recovery program is under the coordination of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, so cooperation between stakeholders needs to be carried out in order to realize the economic welfare of the people.

"Don't just work at the level of budget absorption. We have to turn it into a full commitment to work," he said.

The Ministry of Cooperatives has six priority programs, namely Complete Data Collection on Cooperatives and MSMEs, Major Project for Integrated Management of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Implementation of Presidential Decree No. 2 of 2022 concerning National Entrepreneurship Development.

Then, the redesign of PLUT-KUMKM (Center for Integrated Cooperatives and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises), The New PLUT as a Center of Excellence (center of excellence), Modern Cooperatives through Food Corporatization (Farmers and Fishermen), and Alleviation of Extreme Poverty.

His party wants to ensure that the six agendas can be carried out through the synergy of deputies and local governments in the framework of increasing productivity and quality of MSME products which are then able to encourage the target number of entrepreneurship.

"I want to convey, the synergy of this program is very important. Aligning the productivity of KUMKM and adding new entrepreneurs to advance to class," concluded Teten.
