JAKARTA - Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives approved the indicative budget ceiling for the State Audit Board (BPK) of Rp3.87 trillion in 2023.

The budget will be used with details of Rp3.23 trillion for financial audits, and Rp639.77 for management support.

"We propose to increase the budget for the state financial audit program to reach Rp. 21 billion, which is taken from the management support budget," said Secretary General of BPK Bahtiar Arief in a hearing meeting with Commission XI of the DPR RI monitored in Jakarta, Monday.

Through the state financial audit program, BPK will make 13,610 reports related to state finances.

"To improve the quality of inspections strategically, anticipatively and responsively, including ongoing inspections in the context of national economic recovery, a budget of Rp3.11 trillion is budgeted," he said.

BPK will also improve the capability of modern and dynamic audit organizations in order to support state financial auditors with a budget of Rp. 14.95 billion.

In addition, the budget is Rp. 14.12 billion to increase the effectiveness of supervision of state financial audits, and to create an education and training center to increase capacity of Rp. 77.72 billion.

In addition, BPK will also improve regulations on state financial audits and complete state financial compensation of Rp9.81 billion.

"Furthermore, for management support worth Rp. 639 billion, it is used for activities that support the BPK organization, among others, to improve the monitoring function and implementation of BPK policies, worth Rp. 67.62 billion," he said.
