JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) is facing Commission VI of the Indonesian House of Representatives to ask for State Capital Participation (PMN) of Rp. 10 trillion for the 2023 fiscal year (FY).

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo detailed that the budget will be allocated to each region for the development of electricity infrastructure.

"In 2023 PLN will propose a PMN of IDR 10T with the following allocations for each region, Jamali IDR 2 trillion to replace the electricity supply that has been provided independently by the community and replaced by PLN," he said in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VI, Wednesday 15 June.

Meanwhile, for the Sumatra Kalimantan region, IDR 4.5 trillion will be allocated which will be used to build generation infrastructure with local resources in the form of hydropower and transmission construction to connect electricity in remote areas and also connect customers for equitable electricity.

For Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua and Nusa Tenggara (Sumlapana) regions, IDR 3.5 trillion is used to build power infrastructure with local resources in the form of PLTM, PLTA, PLTMG and PLTG and will be used to build transmission lines in order to connect electricity in remote areas and connect customers. for electricity justice.

"The overall need for PMN so that the electrification ratio can approach 100 percent is around Rp. 18 trillion to Rp. 20 trillion. And for that, we are proposing Rp. 10 trillion this year so that later to build electricity infrastructure throughout the archipelago, it can be implemented," he said.

He also acknowledged that the PMN program was indeed used to build the most difficult electricity infrastructure, which commercially could at least be done in isolated areas which currently have many challenges.

"If we use funds from global bonds or loans, this project will be difficult to fund commercially," he concluded.

Until now, PMN FY 2020 funds that have been realized until the first quarter of 2022 are IDR 4.7 trillion or equivalent to 95 percent of the total PMN funds that have been received.

Meanwhile, PMN FY 2021 funds that have been realized until the first quarter of 2022 are IDR 4 trillion, equivalent to 80 percent of the total PMN funds that have been received.

He said, in 2022 his party has taken a corporate action of Rp. 196.8 billion to support the creation of an electrification ratio to 100 percent, one of which is to connect electricity in remote areas and provide equitable access to electricity for the community.
