JAKARTA - The digital payment system makes the economic process better so that the government encourages Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to implement it.

Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Dody Budi Waluyo said the use of this digital payment system is expected to be implemented in marketing platforms and transaction platforms for the MSME sector.

"Financial inclusion is a theme carried by developing countries in the G20, namely how to raise the level of marginal groups affected by the pandemic to be escalated so that they can recover (recover) and MSMEs must be included in this recovery," said Dody, quoted from Antara, Friday, June 10.

He said, for marginalized groups (MSME actors) to recover from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, digitalization must be juxtaposed in this process.

"No wonder the digital payment system has become a very strong theme for the G20," he said.

Dody said, when it comes to digital payment systems, it must be cheap, easy, reliable and accessible to everyone.

"We don't just dream of having a payment system that is cheap, easy, reliable and accessible to everyone (accessible) only in Indonesia. However, connecting to another country is slower," he said.

Therefore, there is a global commitment so that payments between countries can be made on the same principle, namely fast, cheap and safe.

Currently the discussion that is developing globally is also about digital currencies.

"It's only a matter of time, Indonesia is also preparing to go digital currency. Just like we use rupiah but in digital form," he said.
