JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif accompanied by Director General of EBTKE Dadan Kusdiana and Director General of Electricity Rida Mulyana, held a meeting with CEOs of two large German companies, Siemens Energy and HMS Bergbau AG.

"It is hoped that the memorandum of understanding between Siemens and Pertamina Power can be signed during the momentum of the G20 Energy Transition Ministerial Meeting in Bali in September," continued Agung.

Siemens Energy also expressed its interest in supporting the development of the energy sector in IKN.

Siemens Energy previously had experience in developing new cities in Egypt, not only in terms of developing the energy sector, especially renewable energy, but also developing educational facilities and facilities for capacity building for supporting human resources.

On a separate occasion, the German side expressed its desire for cooperation in coal supply from Indonesia at a meeting between the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources and the CEO of the Association of Coal Companies in Germany (VDKI) and also the CEO of HMS Bergbau AG, Lars Schernkau.

"At the meeting it was stated that 50 percent of Germany's coal supply comes from Russia, and with the current situation, Germany wants to develop cooperation in coal supply from Indonesia," said Agung.

Arifin also asked VDKI to coordinate with associations of similar companies in the European region, including ensuring the availability of port facilities, as well as the terms and conditions for the contract.
