JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) will supply electricity of 1.38 Mega Volt Ampere (MVA) or the equivalent for 1,061 houses to support the international motorcycle cross racing event, MXGP of Indonesia Samota Sumbawa 2022.
The Manager of the PLN Sumbawa Customer Service Implementation Unit, Wiedhyarno Arief, said the amount was the result of a survey conducted by the PLN team.
PLN, he said, had experience in providing reliable and quality electricity at the MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit last February.
"This is certainly a great honor for NTB, and PLN is ready to support it from the electricity side," said Wiedhy in his statement to the media, Tuesday 10 May.
For this reason, continued Wiedhy, PLN has conducted a site survey in calculating the electrical power requirements for the MXGP series of events in April 2022.
“The need for electricity for this MXGP is quite large. We have prepared a reliable electricity supply for the event," he said.
He also mentioned that the total capable power of the Sumbawa Electric System as of May 2022 reached 140 Megawatts (MW) with a load of 118 MW.
This means that there is still a power reserve of 22 MW that can be optimized by the people on Sumbawa Island in welcoming the MXGP of Indonesia Samota Sumbawa 2022 event.
PLN is currently starting to focus on coordinating with all relevant stakeholders to prepare electricity infrastructure.
Wiedhy hopes that this collaboration can continue to be improved so that the entire process can run safely and smoothly.
“Of course we will really need the synergy of all relevant stakeholders, both from the local government and the private sector involved. Without the support of all parties, it is impossible for PLN to do everything on its own,” said Wiedhy.
The most prestigious motor cross event in the world is planned to be held on June 26, 2022 at the Samota Adventure Land Circuit, Samota, Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara.
