Jasa Marga Says Today Is Still The Peak Of Homecoming Return, Hundreds Of Thousands Of Vehicles 'Return' To Jabotabek

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk noted that 60 percent or as many as 1.2 million vehicles have not returned to Jabotabek until D+3 Lebaran 2022.

"We recorded a total of 2 million vehicles leaving Jabotabek on D-10 until the First Day of Eid 2022, or on April 22-May 2, 2022. Until yesterday, we recorded only about 815 thousand vehicles returning to Jabotabek, which means there are still around 60 percent or 1.2 million vehicles that have not returned," said Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head Dwimawan Heru in a written statement on Saturday, May 7 yesterday, as reported by Antara.

Heru added that this figure represents the actual number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek compared to vehicles leaving Jabotabek for the H-10 period until the First Day of Lebaran this year.

Jasa Marga predicts that today, Sunday, May 8, is still the peak of the return flow where the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek is 269,444 vehicles, up 53.6 percent from normal traffic for the November 2021 period.

Seeing that there are still more than half of the total vehicles going home via toll roads that have not returned, Jasa Marga urges road users to re-arrange their travel times.

"Since yesterday, we have appealed to the public not to return home at the peak of the return flow tomorrow. We hope that with the policy of extending school holidays until May 12, 2022, the 60 percent of traffic that has not returned can be distributed until next week. tomorrow, we ask road users to be patient because the amount of traffic coming simultaneously to Jabotabek will be extraordinary," said Heru.
