JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) is spurring the construction of the Peusangan #1 Power House PLTA project which is targeted to operate in July 2023. With the operation of this PLTA, it will simultaneously increase the portion of NRE in the energy mix.

GM PLN UIP Sumbagut Octavianus Duha explained, this 88 Mega Watt capacity project stretches across a number of sub-districts in Central Aceh. "The 150 kV Takengon-Bireuen transmission line, which was operational in 2019, has increased the reliability of the electricity system during peak hours and replaced the operation of PLTD, economically improving the investment climate, especially in the Central Aceh region," he explained.

At the provincial level, the operation of the Peusangan PLTA will reduce Aceh's BPP because the Peusangan PLTA is the first PLTA in Aceh.

Meanwhile, for Lot II Metal Works by Wijaya Karya & Amarta Karya Joint Operation, Lot III Electromechanical Works was handled by Andritz Hydro GmBH and lot IV 150 kV T/L & S/S was carried out by PT. BBSI & PT. KBI Joint Venture.
