Ready To Welcome Tourists, PLN Optimizing Electricity Infrastructure In Bali

JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) has given the first voltage (energize) to the project to replace the main transmission material with a larger capacity (uprating) in the Sanur network line #2, the 150 kV Gianyar Substation (GI) on 24 April 2022 and the Gianyar Network Line # 2 150 kV Sanur Substations on April 25, 2022 with zero accidents.

Director of Mega Projects and New Renewable Energy at PLN, Wiluyo Kusdwiharto, explained that this optimization was carried out by PLN to welcome tourist visits to Bali during the Eid holiday. On the one hand, this optimization step is also in line with preparations for the G20 Summit.

"This work is carried out to optimize the performance of the 150 kV Gianyar-Sanur High Voltage Air Line (SUTT) and the 150 kV Gianyar-Kapal-Baturiti SUTT, which will support the electricity system in Bali even more during the G20 Summit later," said Wiluyo in his statement, Tuesday, May 3rd.

He explained previously that PLN had also applied voltage to 6 network lines, so that with the addition of 2 network lines which were successfully operated on April 24-25, 2022, as many as 8 network lines were successfully applied to voltage within the last 6 months.

Not only that, PLN has also replaced the cable (reconducting) to a larger capacity which serves to increase the ability of conductors to distribute electricity in the 150 kV Gianyar-Sanur SUTT, 150 kV Pesanggaran-Sanur SUTT and 150 kV Gianyar-Ship SUTT so that it will improve system reliability.

General Manager of PLN UIP JBTB, Muhammad Ramadhansyah, explained that PLN continues to be committed to providing optimal electricity services to simultaneously be able to support economic recovery.

"In the electricity infrastructure development process, the obstacles faced can be overcome properly, so that this work can be completed on time and successfully with zero accidents." said Ramadhansyah.

The successful operation of 8 network lines from 3 substations is a real achievement that shows the seriousness of the PLN team to provide excellent electricity services.

"And of course this cannot be separated from the synergy and support of many PLN Units collaborating and synergizing with each other, and of course the role of all relevant PLN stakeholders and work partners. The G-20 event that is in sight, PLN is ready to contribute to the success of the reliability of the electricity system optimal," concluded Ramadhansyah.
