Addressing The President At The Palace, Minister Suharso Presents 2023 Development Plan: Economic Growth Can Reach 5.9 Percent

JAKARTA - The Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas Suharso Monoarfa today presented the 2023 Development Plan to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

In his speech, Suharso said that the Government Work Plan (RKP) 2023 carries the theme of Increasing Productivity for Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Transformation.

"Productivity continues to be boosted so as to increase output so that our economy can be sustainable," he said via online channel Thursday, April 28.

According to Suharso, RKP 2023 sets a number of targets and targets for development indicators, namely economic growth of 5.3-5.9 percent, poverty rate of 7.5-8.5 percent, open unemployment rate of 5.3-6.0 percent.

Then, the Gini ratio is set at 0.375-0.378, the Human Development Index is 73.31-73.49 percent, the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions is 27.02 percent, and the farmer's exchange rate is 103-105, and the fisherman's exchange rate is 106-107.

"Meanwhile, to achieve the 2023 economic growth target, public consumption will be encouraged to grow 5.2 percent to 5.4 percent," he said.

Furthermore, he also explained that investment will continue to be encouraged to grow high in 2023, in line with the continued development of priority infrastructure, implementation of industrialization, and increased investment in environmentally friendly industries.

"This growth will come from an increase in global demand in line with improving global conditions and increasing domestic productivity," he said.

For information, 14 main projects have been identified that have a significant role in achieving development goals, namely priority industrial areas and smelters, integrated management of MSMEs, food estates, priority tourism destinations, acceleration of renewable energy development and energy conservation.

Then, the reform of the social protection system, reform of the national health system, reform of skills education, acceleration of the reduction of maternal mortality and stunting, the customary territory of Papua.

Furthermore, the construction of the Nusantara Capital, an integrated main port network, digital transformation, and the construction of B3 waste treatment facilities.
