JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir released the departure of homecomers who took part in the free homecoming program with SOEs today from the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) page, Jakarta.

Erick said that the total number of participants in the 2022 Safe Homecoming, Healthy Homecoming Program with SOEs reached 12,450 people. Meanwhile, the number of buses provided reached 249 units.

This departure is part of a total of 40,000 travelers who will depart with 542 buses and 24 train trips to nearly 40 cities on the islands of Java and Sumatra. The departure will be carried out in stages from April 27 to May 1, 2022.

Before releasing the departure of homecomers, Erick asked bus drivers not to drive recklessly on the road during the homecoming trip, both on toll roads and provinces. This is to ensure the safety of all parties, both travelers, drivers and other road users.

"You don't have to speed, you don't have to cut up (overtake other vehicles). I feel sorry for the passengers," said Erick, at Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, April 27.

Erick also asked the driver not to hesitate to rest in the nearest rest area if you feel sleepy or tired. The goal is to avoid things that are not desirable.

"I entrust the passengers. Safety is the most important. Don't push yourself when you're tired or sleepy. Take them to their destination, to meet the people they care about," he said.

Not only that, Erick also advised travelers to help each other during this homecoming trip and always get along well.

"Neighbours (homecomers) can't fight, respect each other, help each other, I hope you're in good health," he said.
