JAKARTA - The producer of Sari Roti owned by conglomerate Anthony Salim, PT Nippon Indosari Corpindo Tbk (ROTI), posted a net profit increase of 55.7 percent in the first quarter of 2022 to Rp 88.3 billion compared to the same period the previous year (year on year/yoy). .

ROTI's management in their official statement, quoted on Wednesday 27 April, said that this achievement was driven by the implementation of the strategy to increase production capacity and expand distribution distribution. The strategy succeeded in increasing sales to new records even though the pandemic was still ongoing.

Sales in the first quarter of 2022 were recorded at Rp908.9 billion, an increase of 15.5 percent YoY. The sales value is also the highest since the company was founded 27 years ago.

As is known, ROTI has built 4 new factories in the last 5 years located in Batam, Gresik, Balikpapan and Banjarmasin. The addition of this new factory makes the total production capacity increase to 5.1 million pieces of bread per day and strengthens the distribution network throughout Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the central region, as the largest sales contributor, was able to record an increase of 12.4 percent in the first quarter of 2022," said Director of ROTI Arlina Sofian.

The increase in sales and profit in the first quarter of 2022 was followed by increased production efficiency. This is reflected in the gross profit margin which was maintained at around 52.1 percent amidst the surge in raw material prices.

On the other hand, ROTI also increased operational productivity so that it scored a net margin of 9.7 percent in the first quarter of 2022, up from only 7.2 percent in the same period the previous year. To ensure business performance can continue to grow sustainably, ROTI targets the construction of its 15th factory located in Pekanbaru, Riau to be completed by the end of 2022.

So far, ROTI's capital expenditure realization is Rp. 44.4 billion or 29.6 percent of the Rp. 150 billion budgeted for this year.
