JAKARTA - Riau Governor Syamsuar has officially opened the temporary use of the 32 km Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road to support the smooth flow of Eid al-Fitr 1443 Hijri/2022 homecoming.

The inauguration of the expressway was marked by ribbon cutting by Riau Governor Syamsuar, Riau Police Chief Inspector General Moh Iqbal, and Kampar Regent H Catur Sugeng Susanto, at kilometer 9,300 Kampar, Tuesday 26 April.

"Alhamdulillah, today we have removed the West Sumatra homecoming band via the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road, this toll road will be opened from Tuesday 26 April to 10 May 2022," said Syamsuar, quoted by Antara.

In the inauguration of the functional use of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JJTS) Pekanbaru-Bangkinang section, Syamsuar asked the public to maintain security on the way back and forth.

He explained that at this initial stage, the Pekanbaru-Bangkinang Toll Road was only opened at a set time, starting at 08.00 WIB until 16.00 WIB.

"This road is also timed because all the toll road lights are not on yet. Therefore, only toll road operations are valid from 08.00 WIB to 16.00 WIB," he said.

He also hopes that Pekanbaru-Bangkinang toll road users will use the freeway according to the rules and not be too fast with a maximum vehicle speed of 60 km/hour.

According to the PUPR Ministry, this toll road is the second best toll road in Indonesia, in terms of toll road quality. Because of that, of course, this road is smooth and he hopes that road users can use the road according to the rules.

"Hopefully you are safe on your journey as well as healthy and able to celebrate Eid Al-Fitr in your hometown safely and smoothly," he said.
