PUPR Minister Basuki Brings Good News, Lampung To Palembang Toll Roads Are Priority Repairs Ahead Of The 2022 Eid Homecoming

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono revealed three priorities for repairing the Lampung to Palembang toll roads ahead of the 2022 Eid homecoming.

Minister Basuki said the three priorities were, first, improvement of toll road materials because the quality of concrete has decreased. Second, repairs to roads that have cracks and declines will be repaired after Eid al-Fitr to avoid traffic jams during the Lebaran homecoming flow.

Then the third priority, repairing roads covered with concrete glue.

"Indeed, this condition does not only coincide with the homecoming flow, but also becomes the main road for the community, especially for transportation movements and supporting the economy in the Sumatra region," said the Minister of PUPR, in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Monday, April 18.

He further explained that several segments of this toll road had experienced damage and gradually reconditioning and reconstruction were carried out, such as repairing new pavement layers, re-casting with fast setting concrete, laying pavement layers using asphalt finisher and compacting them, and AC-WC layers. freshly laid with asphalt finisher and compacted.

"Currently, functionally from point zero to km 252 it is good, ready to be used for the upcoming Lebaran 2022 homecoming. The rest is still being repaired until D-10 Lebaran is targeted for completion," said Minister Basuki.

The PUPR Ministry has coordinated with the Toll Road Business Entity (BUJT) PT Hutama Karya, which manages the 140 km Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar segment, which has made improvements with 100 percent progress.

The 189 km long Terbanggi Besar- Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung toll road has also been repaired with 90 percent progress. All of them are certain to be completed before the D-10 Lebaran.

Furthermore, the BUJT PT Waskita Sriwijaya Toll, which manages the 38 km Kayu Agung-Palembang-Bentung Toll Road, has repaired several points, including km 355+950 and km 349+900. Minister Basuki conveyed that the entire Bakauheni Lampung to Palembang toll road section is ready to support the smooth flow of Lebaran 2022 homecoming on the island of Sumatra.

Previously, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono conducted a field review of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road to ensure that the improvement of the condition of the toll road from Lampung to Palembang was running well and vehicles were passed safely and comfortably to support the implementation of the 2022 Eid Mudik flow.

The toll roads inspected are Bakauheni - Terbanggi Besar Toll Road (140 km), Terbanggi Besar Toll Road - Pematang Panggang - Kayu Agung (189 km), and Kayu Agung - Kramasan Toll Road (38 km).
