JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation through the Directorate General of Sea Transportation has again held a free homecoming for motorbikes by ship for Eid 2022. This is done as an effort to divert the density of travelers using motorbikes, where motorbike travelers are very prone to traffic accidents.

Acting (Plt) Director General of Sea Transportation, Capt Mugen Sartoto said that not only diverting road congestion and helping reduce the number of motorcycle accidents during the 2022 Eid homecoming, this free motorbike homecoming by ship is also a form of introduction to travelers who have never used a motorbike before. water transportation.

"This Eid homecoming by ship can also be an alternative choice of transportation mode of travel," he said, in a written statement received by VOI, Monday, April 18.

As is known, after two years earlier when the COVID-19 pandemic occurred where Indonesia at that time canceled homecoming, this year going home was held again. Therefore, it is predicted that the number of homecomers will increase compared to 2019.

"This year it is predicted that there will be an increase in the number of homecomers like the year before the pandemic," he said.

With the holding of the 2022 Eid homecoming, Mugen said that the responsibility and participation of travelers was needed to take part in the vaccination program provided by the government in order to anticipate the spread of COVID-19.

"Make sure travelers who will take advantage of the Free Motorcycle Homecoming program by Sea have received a booster vaccine or at least the second and first doses of vaccination, which are equipped with travel requirements in accordance with SE Minister of Transportation No. 37 of 2022," he said.

How to register and schedule a free trip

Mugen explained that registration and registration for this free motorbike homecoming will open on April 18, 2022 and close on April 24, 2022. Registration is done online which can be accessed via the website: http://mudikgratis.dephub.go.id/.

There are two fleets of ships used for this free homecoming, namely KM Dobonsolo and KM Ciremai, both of which are operated by PT. Pelni. The two ships are 3 in 1 ships, ships that can transport people, goods and vehicles.

The routes for the 2022 motorbike free homecoming are Jakarta-Semarang-Surabaya (Mudik) and Surabaya-Semarang-Jakarta (Backflow).

The homecoming schedule for the Jakarta-Semarang-Surabaya route with KM Dobonsolo is April 26, 2022 at 13:00 WIB and KM Ciremai on April 29, 2022, at 22:00 WIB, all of which depart from Tanjung Priok Port, Jakarta.

Meanwhile, the return schedule for the Surabaya-Semarang-Jakarta route is with KM Dobonsolo on 11 May 2022 at 17:00 WIB and KM Ciremai on 9 May 2022 at 17:00 WIB.
