Long Weekend, KAI Ensures Train Services Prioritize Prokes

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) said that during the long holiday period this weekend, the company's ranks were ready to serve the community well and consistently in implementing health protocols in accordance with SE Kemenhub No. 39 of 2022.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said that during this long weekend period, namely April 14-17 2022, the volume of long-distance train customers was 209,370 customers or an average of 52,343 customers per day. The long-distance train occupancy in that period was 51 percent of the total seats provided.

Meanwhile, some of the customer's favorite trains are the Airlangga KA Pasar Senen - Surabaya Pasarturi pp, Bengawan KA Pasar Senen - Purwosari pp, and the Jayabaya KA Pasar Senen - Malang pp.

"We urge customers to immediately take booster vaccines so that traveling by train remains healthy and comfortable," he said in a press release today, Friday, April 15.

According to Joni, long-distance train customers who have received the third vaccine no longer need to show the results of the COVID-19 screening at the time of boarding. Then for those who have received the second dose of vaccine, they are required to attach a negative rapid antigen test result with a validity period of 1×24 hours or RT-PCR with a validity period of 3×24 hours.

"If it's just the first dose of vaccine, then it is required to attach a negative RT-PCR result with a validity period of 3 × 24 hours," he said.

Furthermore, he explained that for customers aged 6-18 years who are currently unable to get a booster vaccine, they are still required to show the results of the COVID-19 screening.

Meanwhile, customers under 6 do not have to show proof of vaccine or screening but must be accompanied by an adult when traveling.

"KAI will continue to maintain the application of health protocols and services on this long weekend before another peak season arrives, namely Eid transportation," concluded Joni.
