Many Communities Switch To Using Pertalite, Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources Proposes To Increase Quota To 5.45 Million Kilo Liters

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) proposes to increase the quota for subsidized fuel in anticipation of ensuring the availability of fuel supplies as a result of the migration of Pertamax users to Pertalite.

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif revealed that his party would increase the quota of RON 90 or Pertalite fuel oil by 5.45 million Kilo liters (kl) to 28.50 million kl.

One of the reasons for this additional quota was the increase in the price of pertamax, which caused many people to migrate to the use of pertalite.

"Noting the faster economic recovery after the pandemic, which has increased fuel consumption and the disparity in fuel prices, this shift in the use of fuel in the community has an impact on quotas for certain types of fuel, including kerosene and diesel and special types of fuel for the assignment of Pertalite which is predicted at the end of 2022. exceeds the quota set by the 2022 State Budget," said Arifin in a Working Meeting with Commission VII, Wednesday, April 13.

Meanwhile, for subsidized diesel fuel, Arifin plans to increase the quota by 2.29 million kilo liters (kl) to 17.39 million kl, kerosene to increase by 0.10 million kl to 0.58 million kl, and Pertalite to increase by 5. 45 million kl to 28.50 million kl.

Previously, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero) Nicke Widyawati emphasized that the stock of fuel oil (BBM) was safe in all provinces and even distribution had "over" the quota to ensure availability in the community. National fuel stock, said Nicke, is sufficient for the next 22 days.
