JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is preparing a preventive and anticipatory approach in ensuring security and ensuring the safety of Jabodebek LRT customers prior to the soft launch in August 2022.
KAI's VP of Public Relations (Persero) Joni Martinus said, KAI together with other stakeholders had evaluated incidents during the previous trial period, so that similar incidents would not occur in the future.

Joni further explained that this integrated automatic system consists of two key components, namely signaling and telecommunications. The signal will adjust the distance between trains, accelerate and brake automatically. Meanwhile, telecommunications that regulates data communications, regulates power supply and protection from the electrical side.
Not only that, KAI also applies prevention by training special human resources regarding all operational aspects of the Jabodebek LRT so that it can run safely and safely, as well as implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for emergency conditions, both on the train and at the station.
In anticipating emergency conditions, the train series is equipped with emergency contact intercoms, fire and smoke sensors, as well as drop and collision detection which automatically stops the train instantly.
In addition to sensors and detection devices, KAI has also placed a Light Fire Extinguisher (APAR) and a glass-breaking hammer in the Jabodebek LRT circuit.
Intensive monitoring is also carried out through CCTV installed in all train series and at stations. Not only that, for evacuation purposes, all Jabodebek LRT stations provide connecting bridges.

Joni added that until April 2022 the progress of the Jabodebek LRT reached 81.45 percent and it is targeted for a soft launch on August 17, 2022 and commercial operation after that.
