JAKARTA - President Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Subholding Commercial & Trading Pertamina, Alfian Nasution estimates that sales of RON 90 or pertalite fuel oil (BBM) will increase by 11 percent until Eid. Alfian said, pertalite consumption will increase from the previous 73,180 kiloliters (KL) to 81,406.

"We project that it will increase by 11 percent during the fasting month until Idul Fitri," said Alfian during a hearing with Commission VII DPR RI in Jakarta, Wednesday, April 6.

Apart from Pertalite, the increase in sales will also occur in subsidized and non-subsidized LPG gas by 3 percent from 26,667 MT to 27,338 MT. Sales increase is also expected to occur in Kerosene which is estimated to increase by 0.8 percent from 1,339 to 1,350 KL.

In addition to the increase, Pertamina also estimates that there will be a decline in sales of several types of fuel, including sales of Pertamax (RON 92) fuel which is estimated to fall 15 percent from the previous 21,573 kl per day to 18,251 kl per day.

Likewise, Pertamax Turbo (RON 98) is also expected to decrease by 27 percent from 584 kl per day to 426 kl per day, Dexlite (CN 51) fell 3 percent from 2,345 kl per day to 2280 kl per day, and Pertamina DEX down 4 percent from 701 kl per day to 672 kl per day.

"Meanwhile, Solar/Bio will also experience a decline of 5 percent from 2,345 kl per day to 2,280 kl per day," continued Alfian.

He explained that based on the previous year's data, ahead of Ramadan, diesel sales would normally decline by 10 percent, but given the economic recovery this year, he estimates the decline will only be 5 percent.

"We predict that it will only decrease by 5 percent because trucks and industries are no longer operating," added Alfian.

Alfian further added that Pertamina is also preparing additional services such as preparing 1,370 standby gas stations which will be placed on potential routes such as toll roads, tourist routes and logistics routes which will operate 24 hours a day.

"We will also prepare 48,207 units of LPG agents and outlets that will also operate for 24 hours, 37 units of Pertamina stand-by kiosks and 220 motorist units that will operate when there is congestion on the designated route," he explained.
