JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) has alerted 47.090 personnel at 1.500 standby posts spread across the country, by implementing a picket system for operational officers for 24 hours to maintain the reliability of the electricity supply.

PLN Executive Vice President Corporate Communications and CSR Agung Murdifi said that his party continues to maintain the reliability of electricity supply during Ramadan so that people remain comfortable and focus on worship supported by an adequate electricity supply.

"So that people are more calm and comfortable in carrying out their worship, we have alerted tens of thousands of officers to serve the electricity needs of all customers," Agung said in a statement received by VOI, Monday, April 4.

To ensure safe electricity supply, PLN not only maximizes the operation of existing power plants, but also prepares backup supplies by providing Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), and mobile transformers to generators.

Agung explained that for the Sumatra area, PLN has prepared a total of 12,743 personnel. Meanwhile, in Kalimantan, there are 4.141 personnel.

"The electricity supply is also strengthened by 40 UPSs, 325 UGB mobile transformers, and 475 generator units spread across Sumatra and Kalimantan," said Agung.

As for the Java-Madura-Bali region, PLN has prepared 939 standby posts with 18,921 personnel. PLN has also prepared 2.329 units of technical service cars and 918 units of additional electricity supply via UPS and generators as well as mobile transformers.

For the Sulawesi, Maluku, Papua and Nusa Tenggara regions, PLN has opened 491 posts with 11.285 standby personnel.

"PLN has also prepared 722 units of electricity supply supporting equipment such as UPS, generators, and mobile transformers," Agung added.

During the standby period, continued Agung, PLN made sure not to carry out maintenance or construction work so that the electricity supply to the community would not be disrupted. He added that during the Ramadan Alert period, PLN also alerted pickets at generation, transmission, and distribution, as well as regularly reporting electricity conditions to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

"With this readiness, it is hoped that the whole community will be able to carry out their worship during this month of Ramadan solemnly. We ensure that all communities have a reliable electricity supply," said Agung.

Agung added that currently PLN customer service can be accessed through the PLN Mobile application. Customers can download the PLN Mobile application on the Playstore and AppStore.
