JAKARTA - President Director of Perum Damri, Setia N. Milatia Moemin said his party would add as many as 460 special buses for the 2022 Eid transportation. The addition of the fleet was carried out in anticipation of the surge in passengers during the Idul Fitri or Lebaran 2022 homecoming period.

"The total number of buses that we will allocate for going home outside of those that normally operate is 460 buses in 2019, so this year we estimate 460. We are still using a conservative approach," he said in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VI DPR, Tuesday, March 29.

Furthermore, Setia said that the number of trips that will be carried out by the company during the H-10 period before Lebaran to D+10 post-Eid is 8,715 trips.

"Then, the number of subscribers is 205,376 outside the regular ones," he said.

Setia explained that to provide comfort to the passengers, the company has also checked the fleet and drivers.

Setia said that the location that carried the most passengers was Jakarta. These passengers will move to the East and West.

"In addition to Jabotabek, we have other departure locations, namely in the middle, Jogja to the east. Then Bandung, there are also some that go to Lampung and Palembang. But usually the largest homecoming flow is from Jakarta," he explained.

Meanwhile, Setia said, the departure locations for the Kalimantan region are at several points, such as in Pontianak, Palangkaraya, Banjarmasin, and Tanjung Selor. While the Sulawesi region where the largest departures are in Gorontalo, Kendari, Makassar, Manado, and Palu.

Setia said to make it easier for travelers, the company has also integrated with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) and PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni).

"We have integrated with PT KAI to anticipate the surge in passengers at the station and at the departure point for the Damri bus. Then with Pelindo and PT Pelni we have integrated, usually we take them to the port and take them to the next last mile," he said.
