Ensure That The Construction Of Gas Pipelines Uses The State Budget, The Government Tightens Supervision So That It Is Timely And Of Good Quality

JAKARTA - Learning from the experience of the last 10 years, the Government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources will closely monitor the implementation of the construction of a natural gas network for households (jargas). That way, the infrastructure built with the State Budget and Expenditure (APBN) funds will be completed on time and of high quality.

Sesditjen Migas Alimuddin Baso as the Budget User at the Signing of the 2022 Gas Gas Development Contract said that indiscipline in the implementation of the previous gas gas development led to suboptimal results.

"The distribution as well as the installation of gas stoves to houses with gargas installed is one of the efforts to ensure that the development implementation goes well," he said, Wednesday, March 16.

Alimudin added that the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources through the Directorate General of Oil and Gas will continue to monitor the implementation of gas gas construction.

"It could be that friends of the contractors implementing the jargas construction feel this (indiscipline) is an advantage in terms of cost efficiency. But we will continue to pursue it if the commitment is not confirmed with evidence of gas flowing into houses," said Alimuddin.

He further said that the government also hopes for a strong synergy between the construction contractors and the Commitment Making Officers (P2K), as well as the Directorate General of Oil and Gas in general.

"Conduct healthy communication, continue to use the rules contained in the contract and take care of each other," Alimuddin ordered.

The construction of the 2022 gas line is expected to be completed in November 2022, so there is one month to tidy up the remaining work. Considering that the beginning of April 2022 has entered the month of Ramadan where there are usually difficulties in mobilizing human resources, the Government asks that this can be anticipated and not be a reason to delay work.

Alimuddin also reminded that the facilities and rights of the workers were the main concern.

"There should be no unpaid salaries every week. If the people below are not managed properly, the risk is that the contractor will repeat the same work and that means high costs," he said.

For 2022, the construction of jargas is planned for 40,777 SR in 12 regencies/cities. This development is divided into 5 packages, namely Package 1 covering Siak Regency, Palalawan Regency and West Tanjung Jabung. Package 2 covers Musi Banyuasin Regency, Muara Enim Regency and East Ogan Komering Ulu Regency.

Package 3 covers Indramayu Regency, Semarang City and Wajo Regency. Package 4 consists of Gresik Regency and Probolinggo City. Meanwhile, Package 5 covers Lumajang Regency.

The gas network development program has been implemented by the Directorate General of Oil and Gas since 2009 and to date a total of 662,431 SRs have been built. The objectives of the construction of jargas are to provide energy access to the community, save costs on natural gas fuel, help the community's economy towards an independent and environmentally friendly community economy and reduce the burden of fuel and/or LPG subsidies in the household sector.
