JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) will soon complete work on the Sigli-Ulee Kareng 275 kV (Kilovolt) Extra High Voltage Substation (GITET) in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam Province in order to improve the reliability of electricity in the area.

Infrastructure development worth Rp372 billion will operate this semester. The current project development has reached 93.45 percent.

PLN is currently preparing the first voltage (energize) when the GITET is ready to operate.

General Manager of PLN's North Sumatra Development Main Unit (UIPSBU) Octavianus Duha said the GITET development process is currently entering the final inspection stage.

"This project that we are working on is in order to strengthen the electricity system in Aceh. Therefore, of course, synergy is needed between PLN units and the support of stakeholders and the community so that this development can run smoothly," he said in an official statement, Monday, March 7.

The work process for GITET and also SUTET 275 kV Sigli-Ulee Kareng (2×450 mn2) 179 kms includes the completion of 240 towers and the withdrawal of cables for 202 towers. Currently, the overall achievement of transmission development reaches 93.45 percent. All work is targeted for Commercial Operation Date in the first half of this year.

Octavianus Duha also ensured that during the COVID-19 pandemic, all project work activities were carried out with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
