JAKARTA - SOE Minister Erick Thohir welcomed the laying of the first stone for the construction of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) at the Ngurah Rai Toll Gate (GT), Bali Mandara Toll Road, Bali.

Erick Thohir appreciated the synergy and breakthroughs made by PT Bukit Asam Tbk and PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk in building PLTS on the Bali Mandara Toll Road. This is a tangible form of SOE support in reducing global carbon emissions and the 2022 G20 Presidency.

"I appreciate the BUMN business sector which has started to reduce carbon emissions," said Erick Thohir in a written statement quoted by Antara, Saturday, March 5.

The cooperation that was built is one of the concrete steps to achieve zero carbon emissions or Net Zero Emissions (NZE).

Erick Thohir emphasized that SOEs are fully committed to promoting an integrated ecosystem based on green energy.

"We are committed to achieving the net zero emission target that has been echoed by the Government of Indonesia, namely by 2060. To achieve this, we are in the process of carrying out an energy transition mechanism and also encouraging the electric car ecosystem," said the Minister of SOEs.

"I hope this collaboration can bring added value, especially for the economy, social and the surrounding environment," said Erick Thohir.

The laying of the first stone for the construction of the PLTS Bali Mandara Toll Road is a follow-up to the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by the two SOEs on February 2, 2022.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the PLTS was attended by the Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster and the Directors of Jasa Marga as well as Bukit Asam.
