JAKARTA - The government is preparing various efforts to overcome the accommodation problem so that ticket sales and the number of spectators for the Mandalika MotoGP (Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia) can be in line with the target. Deputy I Presidential Chief of Staff Febry Calvin Tetelepta, said that these efforts include making one-pack MotoGP tickets. with lodging.

Based on the results of monitoring (supervision) and field verification of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), according to Febry, until now there are still concerns about prospective spectators regarding the availability of housing, which has caused MotoGP ticket sales to not be maximized.

"One of the causes of the lack of MotoGP ticket sales can not be separated from the limited availability of accommodation. Tourists are worried about not getting lodging while they have already bought MotoGP tickets," said Febry in a press release in Jakarta, Thursday, March 3.

Febry said, as much as 75 percent of all accommodations spread across the island of Lombok were able to operate.

"Of that number (75 percent), half have been booked, and 7,200 rooms are still available," he said.

According to Febry, the government is also making efforts so that people can access accommodation facilities at affordable prices. That effort is the implementation of NTB Governor Regulation No. 9 of 2022 which regulates accommodation rates during international events.

"To maximize the use of homestays or sarhunta (tourism housing facilities), KSP also encourages the homestays offered to be accessed through the ITDC (Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation) online," he said.

In addition, KSP also asked the local government in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), especially in Lombok, as well as the ITDC BUMN to continue to invite the public to watch MotoGP.

"The NTB Regional Government has involved the community in the process of building MotoGP facilities and infrastructure. There is also a need for a breakthrough involving the community to make the event a success," said Febry. The number of tickets for the Mandalika MotoGP sold until February 20, 2022 was 21,530 tickets. This number is still far from the target of 60,000 tickets.
