JAKARTA - The rise of influencers who invite people to invest has become the attention of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). In this regard, the IDX emphasizes the importance of adequate education for investors in the capital market, especially novice investors.

IDX considers that the rise of influencers on social media who invite novice investors to invest without adequate education and literacy is considered quite disturbing. The reason is, not a few investors are actually trapped in making investment decisions based on influencer recommendations.

For this reason, the Director of Trading and Regulation of IDX Members, Laksono Widodo, said that his party is currently promoting 3P education: "Understand, Own, Monitor."

"In terms of investing, investors themselves are responsible for their investment decisions. So, we recommend that you become smart investors with the 3Ps: Understand, Own, Monitor," said Laksono, in a statement quoted by Antara, Tuesday, March 1.

He explained, to “Understand”, investors must understand that investing must use excess funds, understand the suitability of the risk profile of investment products with the risk appetite of each investor, and understand the investment goals to be achieved.

"Investors also need to seek as much information as possible in order to understand them well, before making investment decisions," he said.

Then, he added, to “Own”, investors need to choose the right and right investment partners, both securities and investment managers. According to him, opening an investment account is now very easy, but keep in mind that investors must have and maintain access and confidentiality of their investment accounts.

"Have or have investment products whose performance is understood. Don't put your eggs in one basket. Investors should have several investment products so that portfolio growth can be maintained stable," he said.

As for "Monitor", investors need to remember that investments need to be monitored regularly, both in terms of price movements on the stock exchange, and in terms of company performance, because investment is an activity with a long-term orientation so it is necessary to monitor the latest news and information because it will be very important. useful for enriching the analysis.
